FREDERICTON, January 10th, 2017 – The Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick, the province’s largest general farm organization, will hold their 11th Annual General Meeting/Conference in Fredericton on January 19th & 20th, 2017 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Agricultural producers from across New Brunswick will convene in Fredericton to discuss the current issues facing the agricultural industry in New Brunswick.
Honourable Rick Doucet, Minister of Agriculture, and Aquaculture and Fisheries, will address the assembly the morning of January 19th.
Other speakers attending the two-day event include: Faith Matchett, area V.-P. from Farm Credit Canada, Janet Steele Atlantic Regional Director from Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada, and Sadie Perron, Assistant Deputy Minister of the NB Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries.
Our special keynote speaker: Amy Matheson from Food Care Canada, will make a presentation on Public Trust and Aaron Law will give tips to producers on how they can make a difference in the industry and share his social media best practices.
The delegates will also hear from the Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries NB Local Food and Beverage Strategy, receive an NB Labour Market Forecast based on research conducted by the Canadian Agriculture Human Resource Council and receive information on the impacts of climate change and carbon taxation on the agriculture industry.
Awards Banquet: A banquet will be held on the evening on January 19th in order to honour members who have made exceptional contributions to the NB Agricultural Community. These awards will include the James Robb Award for Agrologist of the Year, the New Entrant Award and the Innovation Award.
