Agricultural Alliance’s 2014 AGM
FREDERICTON, January 8, 2014 – The Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick, the province’s largest general farm organization, will hold their 8th Annual General Meeting in Fredericton on January 23 & 24, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Agricultural producers from across New Brunswick will convene in Fredericton to discuss the current issues facing the agricultural industry in New Brunswick.
Honourable David Alward, Premier of N.B., will address the assembly January 23rd first item in the afternoon.
Honourable Claude Williams, Minister Department of Transportation & Infrastructure, will also address the assembly in the afternoon of January 23rd.
There will be other speakers over the two-day event. Just to name a few: Brenda Schoepp, mentor/support and interconnections, Faith Matchett; area V.-P. from Farm Credit Canada, Janet Steele. Atlantic Regional Director from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada; Humphrey Banack, 1st V.-P. from the Canadian Federation of Agriculture; Kevin McCully, from the N.B. Department of Agriculture, speaking on Growing Forward 2.
Our special keynote speaker: Brenda Schoepp, as a farmer, speaker, writer, mentor, consultant and researcher, Brenda will inspire producers and give them tools to improve their farm management skills and profitability.
Land Use Panel: We will also entertain a panel on the second day (January 24th) with farmers and a regional service commission representative to address the land use issues here in the province.
Awards Banquet: A banquet will be held on the evening on January 23rd in order to honour members who have made exceptional contribution to the NB Agricultural Community. These awards will include the James Robb Award for Agrologist of the Year, the New Entrant Award and the Innovative Award.
